The TAROM Agency is marked T on the map.Once in the center, you can take a taxi; they usually charge 3,500 lei /km. The cost up to the University should be about 30,000 Romanian Lei ( 1 US$ = 30000 ROL).Alternatively, you can take tram no. 1, 4, 8, or 13 for two stops up to the "Universitate" (University stop). The Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications is located near the tram stop, on the lefthand side, marked SCS’2001 on the map. The price of a ticket, which can be bought from the driver, is 4,000 ROL. The main public transportation stops are marked PT on the map.Walking (uphill) to the symposium site would not take more than 15 minutes.From the Train Station:The main railway station is marked R1 on the map. There is no direct bus or tram to the symposium location. You can switch 2 trams: tram no. 3 or 6 for one stop to "Centru" (Downtown) and tram no. 1, 4, 8, or 13 for two stops up to "Universitate" (University stop). The Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications is located near the tram stop, on the left-hand side, marked SCS 2001 on the map. The price of a ticket, which can be bought from the driver, is 4,000 ROL. By plane:
From "Baneasa" Airport in Bucharest there are flights to Iasi Tuesday to Fridays.There are several possibilities for transport from/to the airport:
Bus no. 783 ( from arrival terminal to the central places in Bucharest (and vice-versa). A two-way card is 20,000 ROL (about 0.8 US$). During the workdays it operates at every 15 minutes between 07.00 and 22.00 and 30 minutes between 05.00-07.00 and 22.00-24.00. During weekends the bus operates every 30 minutes from 05.00 to 24.00. You should get off at "Aeroport Baneasa" ("Baneasa Airport") station .If you prefer a taxi, please negotiate the price before jumping inside! A fair price from Otopeni airport to Baneasa is less than 300,000 ROL (about 10 US$).The timetable of the flights to Iasi is:

By train:There are several possibilities for transport from/to the airport:Bus no. 783 from arrival terminal to the central places in Bucharest (and vice-versa). A two-way card is 20,000 lei. You should get down at "Piata Victoriei" ( "Victory Square") station and take the underground to "Gara de Nord" railway station ( the underground fare for a card is about 10,000 ROL, (some 0.3 US$).If you prefer a taxi, don’t forget to negotiate the price! A fair price is less than 450,000 ROL (about 15 US$).By train, the journey from Bucharest to Iasi is of about 6 hours. A first class one way train ticket varies from about 300,000 to 500,000 ROL (10 to 15 US$).

The Iasi railway station is at about 15 minutes walk from downtown. The tram ticket is less than a quarter of 1 US$ and the taxi fare is less than 5 US$.By car:The distance between Bucharest and Iasi is about 400 km. The network of buses, trams and trolley buses in Iasi is quite efficient and effective.
